Before I was an instructional designer, I was a faculty at a community college and an EFL teacher in Japan. Nine years of teaching adults in a classroom setting, designing courses and lessons, then delivering the content myself, gave me invaluable insight into what works and what doesn't when you're facilitating the learning process.

I learned that tapping into a learner's motivations is a major driving factor in reaching their learning goals. I also learned that adult learners' needs are complex and ever-changing, a challenge that continues to inspire me to innovate and improve my design choices.

My Education

I earned my MEd in TESOL from Seattle University. I spent my internship teaching ESL reading and writing at the NewHolly Learning Center (Seattle).

I received my BS in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Texas (Austin), with a dual specialty in Audiology and Speech/Language Pathology.

I am passionate about making learning meaningful and accessible for everyone. With years of experience teaching ESL to diverse learner populations, I prioritize the learner's experience in every design decision, ensuring that the content resonates with a wide range of individuals.

I specialize in creating engaging, easy-to-follow learning experiences that empower learners to develop new skills and achieve their goals. My deep understanding of adult learning principles allows me to craft innovative and result-driven solutions that are both impactful and memorable.

By seamlessly blending creativity with research-backed methodologies like ADDIE, SAM, and Backward Design, I ensure that each learning experience is not only accessible but also purposeful. I use assessment data to inform and refine my process, making sure that content is always relevant and effective.
